Retro Bitcoin T-shirt

I was hired to create a retro bitcoin T-shirt graphic for a Romanian client.

I was given instructions and provided a style example for this project but otherwise was given almost complete creative freedom.

While I enjoy campy retro/vintage aesthetics it is not often a style I work with so I did quite a bit of research to make sure I was properly reflecting the time my pieces were supposed to be set in.

I created three developed concepts ranging from typographically focused through to a simple logo/badge during the project.

After presenting to the client we decided on the bitcoin badge piece and I went to work making it even more grounded in retro style.

To Achieve this I made several changes including adding a paper ribbon around the coin with the 'Est' date on it, adding strategically placed shadow as well as a fabric overlay to age the piece further.

Overall this was a very enjoyable project that made me think in terms I usually stray from, rather than clean minimal I was working to the details that give the style its heart.
